Dear Confreres and Consoeurs,

February 2014.

2014 NATIONAL CHAPTER MEETING – ADELAIDE

On behalf of the South Australian members of The Order I have much pleasure in inviting you to Adelaide to attend the 2014 National Chapter from Thursday May 15th to Sunday May 18th.

The venue for the Chapter meetings and the formal dinner will be the Hilton Hotel on the recently rejuvenated Victoria Square in the heart of the City. Other accommodation alternatives are set out in the enclosed material and members are requested to make their own reservations directly with their chosen hotel.

His Excellency, Rear Admiral Kevin Scarce AC CSC RANR, Governor of South Australia, will be hosting a Reception at Government House at 5.00 PM on Thursday May 15th to mark the 2014 National Chapter. This will be followed by an informal dinner at The Adelaide Club. Please note that official invitations for the Governor’s reception will be issued by Government House to those whose names are submitted by March 31st so it is very important that your registration form is received by then if you wish to be included.

The Vigil Service will be in Pilgrim Uniting Church, Flinders Street on Friday evening, followed by an informal dinner in The Adelaide Town Hall next door. The Investiture service will be held late afternoon on Saturday in St Peters Anglican Cathedral, followed by the formal dinner at the Hilton. On Sunday, we are invited to attend Mass at St Francis Xavier’s Roman Catholic Cathedral, followed by the Farewell Luncheon at the Hilton.

Information regarding a range of optional tours available on Thursday, Friday and Saturday are also attached. The main offering for those not involved with Committee or Council meetings on Friday May 16th is a visit to Hahndorf and “The Cedars” – home and studio of the late Hans Heysen. This will return to the City in ample time to prepare for the Vigil Service at 5.30pm.

If you need any further information, please contact John Bishop – the Chapter Co-ordinator as shown on the registration form.

Please note that the closing date for registration is March 31st, 2014.

The South Australian Commandery members look forward to welcoming you in May.

Confraternally yours,
Don Sarah
